Job description

Title: Postdoctoral Fellow

Department: Neuroscience Center

School/Division: Medical School

Position Summary: The Neuroscience Center at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC) in New Orleans is seeking a motivated scientists with PhD degree in biological, medical, or biochemical field to fill Postdoctoral Fellow and visiting scholar positions as soon as possible.

Our laboratory studies regenerative medicine, stem cell biology, burn injury, wound healing impaired by diabetes or aging, skin biology / dermatology, peripheral neuropathy, pain, neuro-degeneration, inflammation, leukocyte biology, and pharmacology using animal and cell-culture models and comprehensive state-of-art facilities for cellular and molecular biology and neuroscience as well as mass spectrometry. We also study Alzheimer’s disease.

Our goal is to identify mechanisms underpinning the chronic wound healing, inflammation, neuropathy, neuro-degeneration, and develop therapeutic and diagnostic leads to treat these diseases. For more information, please check our website at https://www.medschool.lsuhsc.edu/neuroscience/

The candidate should have closely related background. The incumbent will join the research team consisted of multidiscipline experts in the field, and have ample opportunity to conduct and publish innovative research as well as to learn grant approaches. Salary will be competitive. This position is supported by NIH grants and will remain open until filled.
