The Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Technology and Applied Materials Research is seeking a PhD student at the earliest opportunity to expand the team of the department "Plasma Technology and Surfaces PLATO".

You have a successfully completed university degree in physics or chemistry
You have a good knowledge in the fields of surface technology, plasma technology or electrical engineering

You are familiar with the MS Office applications
Very good knowledge of spoken and written English completes your profile
What you can expect
As part of a dissertation, they will work with industrial partners to investigate novel processes for the deposition of plasma polymer layers at atmospheric pressure. The aim is to improve the use and adhesiveness of high-performance polymer films for the architecture and construction sector. Their tasks lie in the area of developing a plasma source and investigating the coating process

The position is limited to three years.
