Job description

The Condensed Matter Theory Group at the University of Cincinnati invites applications for a Post Doctoral Research Fellow position. The successful candidate will work with Professor Yashar Komijani. Komijani's group is currently interested in semi-analytical approaches to:

Quantum criticality and chaos in strongly correlated electronic systems

Superconductivity in heavy-fermions and Iron pnictides

Multichannel Kondo anyons for topological quantum computation

Applicants with interests or background in quantum field theory, tensor networks and 1D physics and a proven record of computational skills are encouraged to apply. Applicants must have, or be in the process of completing, a PhD or equivalent in theoretical condensed matter physics, or closely related fields.

The initial position is for one year, and can be extended up to two more years upon mutual agreement, positive performance evaluations and continued funding. Start dates are flexible and the applicants are required to specify their availability in the cover letter. The review for applications starts on October 1, 2020 and the applications must be received by December 1, 2020 for full consideration. The search will continue until a suitable candidate is identified.
