Job description

2 PhD Positions in Economics at the University of Bern

The Department of Economics at the University of Bern (Chair Prof. Pierpaolo Benigno) invites applications to two vacant positions for Doctoral Students in economics.

Tasks

The successful candidates will participate in the teaching and research activities of the macroeconomics group of the Department of Economics. They are expected to finish the dissertation within four years.

We offer

A 75–100% position with attractive financial benefits, starting on January 1, 2021. A dynamic and research-oriented environment, with a human dimension, in which one-to-one advising takes place on a regular basis. Enrollment as a PhD student in the Gerzensee program for doctoral students or another doctoral program in Switzerland. We prepare students for the academic job market as well as for positions in public and private institutions. Recent placements include for instance the University of San Diego, University of Laval, Swiss National Bank, and Swiss State Secretary for Economic Affairs.
