Job description

Postdoctoral Associate in Systems Neuroscience

Applications are invited to join the Mena lab (www.menalab.org), a multidisciplinary team at the Center of Molecular and Behavioral Neuroscience (https://cmbn.rutgers.edu/) at Rutgers University. 

We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral scientist to lead a project investigating the neuronal substrates of movement initiation in the midbrain. The ideal candidate will have a PhD in Systems Neuroscience or related areas and have experience in neuronal tracing and in vivo electrophysiology in rodents. Experience in optogenetics is desirable. Candidates with a research background in spinal cord research are particularly encouraged to apply. The Postdoctoral Associate is expected to lead their own project, support other ongoing research projects in the lab, and contribute to the training and supervision of graduate and undergraduate students. 

This is a grant-funded position to start from October 1, 2020 or as soon as possible thereafter.
